Redpolls 29th Feb.
Even though the Siskins are still in abundance in the garden Redpolls have been absent for a while ...Until this morning. It was about this time last year they disappeared & these birds tie in nicely with the movement of Finches at the moment.

Glaucous
A real suprise this lunchtime as i scanned the bay at Abermawr when a 2w Glaucous Gull flew into the bay & started to associate with the other gulls.
A check on the nestboxes at two of the cottages found the had both been woodpeckered , one much more severely than the other. One did have a resident Wood Mouse which seems to have moved out wholesale as the box is now clear with the nest gone completely.

Arrived in Goa 29th Jan.
After a rather uncomfortable flight in plane not suitable for the distance involved our taxi took us to our apartment at the Colonia De Braganza in Calangute. A typical Goan type Hotel , our apartment on the top floor was however of European standard & featured :
Living Room with Television ( not used )
Kitchen with fridge, gas burners & microwave !
2 Double Bedrooms both with Air Management Systems ( air conditioning )
Wet Room
All rooms except wet room had ceiling fans & balconies.
The Hotel had the usual stuff , Bar & Restaurant , 2 Swimming Pools.
The room was cleaned to a very high standard every day although the cleaner did manage to lock Carole in when he left on one of the days !(can't say too much though as i did the same thing at the Beira Mar in 2007!)
We looked forward to a very comfortable stay & some good birds.
