Is it just here?

I heard Fieldfares overhead yesterday morning whilst walking the dog. It occurred to me that There were hardly any haws in the hedgerow this year around Pen Caer  (Hawthorn Berries). They usually stop off on their migration and feast on the red fruit but if they were expecting to do so they would have been sadly disappointed this autumn. I wonder if this holds true elsewhere?
